More woe for Main Street traders

The smashed front window of the Roma takeaway, Upper Main Street, Arklow

A number of shopfront windows on Arklow’s Main Street have been smashed and broken in a deliberate act of vandalism.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A number of businesses had their windows smashed including the Roma takeaway and Dermot Doyle’s butchers on the Upper Main Street. The extent of the damage is estimated at €2,000.

Gardai in Arklow are pursuing a definite line of inquiry and are believed to have already questioned a local man in relation to the offences.
