Wicklow Weather have issued the following weather alert for Friday. Sustained winds of 40kmh to 75kmh with distructive gusts of 140kmh in Leinster, Munster, Connacht. Heavy rainfall will lead to spot flooding. Expect power outages and delays on primary routes and delays or even diverted air traffic. Please keep well away from headlands, piers, and exposed high ground.
The Wicklow mountain rescue and the Gardai are also calling for motorists to stay clear of the Sallygap and Wicklow gap during snow falls.
This year has seen a rise in call-outs for the mountain rescue mostly due to snow tourists.
