TINAHELY WALKS
On Sunday January 26 the walk is in Rathdrum (grade B, 10km), meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.30am. On Sunday February 2 the walk is Hadden’s hill (grade C, 8km), meeting in Tinahely Square at 11.00am.

Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. Full walking schedule for the next two months will appear shortly on Tinahely.ie website

BOXING NIGHT

The annual boxing night will take place on Saturday 8th February at 8pm in The Amber Springs Hotel Gorey with Carnew Emmett’s and our neighbours Craanford, everyone is busy preparing for this big night and tickets will be on sale shortly form any member or local shops at €20 so don’t miss out, good luck to all.

YEAR BOOKS

The Wicklow year books are on sale in Victor Young’s Main Street Carnew at €10.

MODEL EXHIBITION

The annual model exhibition will take place in Colaiste Bhride Carnew on Sunday 9th February to enter contact any of the group, proceeds will go towards Foroige.

CRAFT CLASSES

Carnew craft classes have resumed on Wednesdays from 1.30 – 3.30 in Colaiste Bhride and 7 – 9pm in the VEC centre new members are most welcome contact Eileen 0862584616.

Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew are now accepting enrolments for September 2014, contact the school on 0539426315 or call into the school office for an application form.

Carnew Agricultural Show AGM.

The AGM of Carnew & District Agricultural Show will take place next monday January 27th in Kenny’s Carnew at 8.30. This family day out has been running for 70 years and has become a proud tradition in the Carnew area. The committee would welcome new members to come along and get involved in keeping this great tradition alive in Carnew. Any new ideas or improvements that would help the show are most welcome. Please come along to our AGM on January 27th.

CAMOGIE AND LADIES FOOTBALL REGISTRATION NIGHT

Carnew Emmets Camogie and ladies football clubs are holding a joint registration night on Thursday February 6th from 7 – 9pm in the clubhouse at the sportsfield.

All grades can register on the night from u8’s up to Intermediates. The fee this year is €30 for one juvenille player, €50 for a family (more than one juvenille player) and €55 for an intermediate player.

SCHOOL DEBATING

Congratulations to the debating team from Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew who are through to the final of the primary school debating competition to be held in Wexford Education Centre on Friday 31st January. The team are Lauren Byrne, Cora Tyrell and captain Rachel Sheil have reached the final undefeated so far this year and we wish them and their mentors all the best on the day.
