Some roads in Arklow have been flooded most of the day around high tide.

South Green has been closed since mid morning and remains closed until levels reduce.

There is some flooding along South Quay but this has reduced since lunch time.

The road to the South Beach and Roadstone has been closed in the past hour from the former Qualceram factory.

it appears the sea defences along the South Beach near Roadstone have been breached since this morning and the sea is currently flowing from Roadstone, all the way to the RNLI Lifeboat station on the South Quay.

Conditions are too treacherous to fully inspect at the moment but there appears to be considerable damage and debris in the area.

Arklow Town Council have closed the access roads to the South Beach and South Pier.

Conditions remain dangerous and the areas above should be avoided.
