Four awards in four months for Wicklow company

Wicklow-based startup, an online marketplace that connects local businesses with people that need their products or services, was recently declared a finalist in the Best Start-up Using Digital Award in Dublin.

Since Quotefish was launched in September, they have been finalists in four awards, including the Wicklow Chamber Business Awards, the Realex Web Awards and the Eircom Spiders.
Quotefish was also recently declared a finalist in the 2014 Samsung DMAs Best Start-up Using Digital Award in Dublin.
“Being nominated for awards is a great validation of your business idea,” says founder Simon Chapman,”but seeing people actually benefiting from using Quotefish is what makes it worthwhile.”
Simon is about to launch a crowd funding campaign on to raise money for a global launch. “Using to get investors means that anyone in Ireland, the UK or Europe can invest in our business and others like it for as little as 10 euros. We’d much rather have the kind of people that use Quotefish be the ones who invest in us.” Simon said.
“Getting quotes and prices or registering your business is now as simple as filling out a very short form.” said Simon. “People no longer have to ring a few businesses and waste loads of time, and businesses no longer have to invest chunks of money into advertising”.
With around 50% or Irish individuals open to the idea of running their own business from home in the future, could play a major part in helping businesses reach new customers, while saving the people who need their products and services valuable time and money.
