Kilcoole Parish Centre To Become Community Centre

The parish centre in Kilcoole which was formally the Boys National School before the Kilcoole National School was constructed, is being handed over to the people of the town to be turned into a community centre.

A five person committee made up of councillor Tom Fortune, Loraine O’Toole, Colette Hunt, Mark Blake and Jack Smith have carried out successful discussions with the current owners, St Laurence O’Toole Diocesan Trust.

The committee has secured €200,000 in funding for the development of the centre under the Wicklow County Council development contribution scheme and have received planning permission to carry out alterations and extend the building. The plans also include the construction of a youth Café,
