Arklow man John Hogan Jnr is hoping that RTE’s The Voice could be the break he has been waiting for.
John, who describes himself as a “struggling musician”, told WicklowNews.net: “I really feel my time has come. I have been playing with bands all over Europe and have been a session musician with the Dancemasters and Gaelforce.
“I used to see shows like The Voice and thought they were for glorified Karaoke singers, but it is not the case. There is lots of originality and people like myself have a real chance.”
John, who hails from St Peter’s Place in Arklow, will feature on the show next Sunday and will play one of his own songs “Little Boy Blue”.
Already through to the next stage of the TV show is Coláiste Chill Mhantáin student Thomas Kinney who has joined Team Dolores after his version of the Elvis classic “Can’t help falling in love” impressed both Kian and The Cranberries singer.
