Aughrim based Wicklow Weather have issued a weather alert for the weekend and beyond.
Over the past 4 days we have gone from weather watch to alert and now warning as we approach the time frame of Sunday through Monday and possibly Tuesday.
The following concerns regarding the incoming system.
Snow to Blizzard conditions with accumulations of 10cm plus on ground over 300m (Sunday)
Flooding in most already saturated ground, potential for sleet at lower levels.
Please avoid the Sally Gap and Wicklow Gap.
Coastal Flooding for Munster / Connaught and West Ulster with 6m swells possible.
Gusts of 110kmh in the west with average wind speeds of 65kmh and 50kmh in the east with gusts of 90kmh in exposed locations.
The following alerts within this warning should include wind chill alert, commuter alert and walkers alert for dangerous conditions on high ground and coastal areas.
