WINTRY WEATHER TOMORROW??? (WALKERS & HIKER ALERT)
Following storms for the past week, Wicklow Weather predict snow for Saturday.
Snow and sleet showers tomorrow with high ground above 250m likely to see accumulations with slight risk of blizzard conditions. Inland east and North east could see lower level lying snow.
The Aughrim based Wicklow Weather say Everything depends on the nature of the showers and direction which we are still unsure of. We are best doing a nowcast tomorrow as wintry showers could pop anywhere. Ideally we would advise motorists not to drive in high mountain areas such as Sally Gap, Wicklow Gap etc.
Year after year we see people getting stuck even with the winter works on their 4X4’s.
Also an idea for climbers and hikers to stay away from mountain regions with wind chill between -5c to -2c.
Hints at a colder regime building from mid to late January which we originally forecast in early December and we will provide a quick update on this later.
