Met Éireann has issued a wind warning for Wicklow and other coastal areas including Dublin, Cork, Meath, Wexford,Waterford, Louth and Kerry.
Atlantic storm Ruth is moving eastwards across Ireland tonight and Saturday, bringing gusts of up to 110km/hr.
Southerly winds will hit average speeds of 45-65km/hr, and flooding is expected from persistent heavy rainfall. Sunday will continue with strong winds, heavy spells of rain and frost at night.
Met Eireann say things should start to ease off once the yellow weather alert ends on Satuday midday, but a new alert could be issued again early next week. They have also warned there will be a risk of flooding at high tide.
