Farmer dies in Castledermot accident

A man has died on a farm in Castledermot, Co Kildare, approximately four miles west of Baltinglass.

The incident occurred at around 12.30am last night.

The Health and Safety Authority has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Reports suggest the man was returning from checking on stock when he slipped and fell on a rake.

His remains have been removed to Naas General Hospital.
