Hollywood Notebook – February 17



Bingo takes place in the Hollywood Centre every Thursday night at 8.30pm. We have two jackpots – €3,000 and €1,400 to play for each week.


The winning numbers in last week’s lotto were: 9, 18, 19 and 24. No winner. The €50 winners were: Annemarie Nolan, Scalp, Hollywood, and James Flynn c/o Daly’s shop, Hollywood and Madge Mills c/o Hollywood bingo.

Our Lotto jackpot now stands at €5,600. Get your tickets for the next draw 27th February from the Hollywood Centre, Daly’s shop and local sellers.


Whist will take place in the Hollywood Centre on Monday 24th February at 8.30pm. All welcome.


Congratulations to Brid Burke, Tommy Richardson and Tomas Richardson who won the Kildare/West Wicklow bowls treble championship last week. Also congratulations to Billy Murphy, Hollywood who received runner up prize in the open singles championship. Great to have two teams contesting in the finals from a small club.

Friendship Club

The Friendship Club meet every Wednesday in the Hollywood Centre from 2.15 – 4.15pm. All welcome.

“Salsa Cardio”

Keep fit classes (mixture of Latin moves that are easy to follow). No experience necessary. Classes every Wednesday morning 10.30am – 11.30am

Parent & Toddler Group

Hollywood Parent & Toddler Group meet every Thursday in The Hollywood Centre from 10am to 12noon, cost is €3 per family. Parents / carers can enjoy a chat & light refreshments while the little ones play! New members always welcome.


The Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir together with local singers and musicians will present a Gala Choral evening in St. Kevin’s Church on Friday 28th February at 8pm in aid of Church renovations. Ballymore and Hollywood Boxing Club Tournament

Ballymore and Hollywood Boxing tournament in Hollywood Centre on Saturday 22nd February at 8pm. Boxers from all over Leinster will be taking part. Special guest will include Kenneth Egan – famous Olympic medal winner. All local boxers in action. Adm €7. Refreshments free. All support very welcome.

Official Opening

The official opening and blessing of the new extension to our school is planned for 4th April.

Drug Meeting

There will be a meeting later in the month to raise awareness of the worrying drug problem in the area. Please come and inform yourself. More details later.


“Friends of Hollywood Camogie Club” are organising a Reunion & Dance for All – Supporters, Friends & Players (past & present) – on Fri 25th April in Hollywood GAA Clubhouse @ 8pm sharp. Music by ‘Eddie Davitt and the Quality Street Band’.
