A major seminar entitled ‘Community Responding to Homelessness’ is taking place in Bray on April 10 in the Mermaid Arts Centre.
The seminar is being put on by Bray Homeless Forum and will be of interest to anybody who is concerned about the issue of homelessness in our local community.
It will run from 9am to 1pm, starting with Senator Aideen Hayden, Chairperson of Threshold, speaking on ‘Homelessness at a Crossroads’, Nicola Jones from Sa Bhaile on the experience of homelessness, and Mary O’Carolan from Bray Area Partnership on the Bray Homeless Forum’s strategy to tackle homelessness in the local area.
This will be followed by a lively discussion panel, chaired by RTE news presenter Anthony Murnane, entitled ‘Planning for a Better Future: Strategies to End Homelessness’, with inputs from a range of speakers, including Fr. Peter McVerry and John Lonergan, former Governor of Mountjoy Prison, and questions and answers.
