Tinahely Notebook – March 31

Daffodil Day Cuppa Thanks.
The Daffodil Day Coffee Morning held on Friday 28th March last in The Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely was a great success,  raising in excess of €2,000.   A very big thank you to everyone who supported, helped and contributed in any way to  this hugely successful coffee morning Fundraiser.  Proceeds to the Irish Cancer Society.  Thank you for your valued and wonderful support.

Dog Walkers
A reminder to all Dog Walkers on the Railway Walk, dogs must be on a leash AT ALL TIMES. No dogs are allowed, leashed or loose, on any of the Looped Walks in the area.

SVP Tinahely Mens Shed
Please support your local SVP Tinahely Mens Shed national fund raising campaign – Thursday April 3 and Friday April 4.  Your support would be very much appreciated.

Tinahely National School
K Factor Time. The parents association of Tinahely National School are holding the  K Factor karaoke competition on Sat 5th and Sat 12th Aprilin Murphys Hotel Tinahely. Tractor/Vintage Car Run.

This event is an annual event which we run as part of The Relay for Life Carlow in conjunction with the Irish Cancer Society. It will take place on Sunday the 13th of April @ 1.30 pm. The Run will be starting in Hacketstown – Clonmore – Rathvilly and then back to Hacketstown for Refreshments in the Community Hall afterwards.
Please come along and support this very worthy cause and help us to raise some badly needed funds.
Help us to CELEBRATE, REMEMBER & FIGHT BACK, with those who have suffered and are still suffering with Cancer.

Tinahely Walking Club
On Sunday April 6 the walk is Lobawn (West Wicklow Sugar Loaf) grade B, 12/14k /3 hours approx), meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.00am. On Sunday April 13 the walk is Ballinamanogue/Ballycumber loop (grade B, 13k /3.5 hours approx), meeting in Tinahely Square at 11.00am. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. Full walking schedule is on the Tinahely Website.

ICA Notes
A very successful Coffee Morning and Handbag Sale was held on Friday 21st March in the Courthouse Arts Centre.  This was attended by ladies from Tinahely and surrounding area.  A big thank you to all.Prize winners were Nuala O’Dowd  Beechwood Park,  Helen McDonald Crossbridge, Margaret Murphy Long Hill,and Aoife Barry Cork who also won a handbag in the Raffle. Proceeds of the morning went towards the erection of Flower Boxes on the Bridge.  Thanks to Maggie Gallagher and Ann Kenny for their help and co-operation on the day.
