Former London mobster gives anti-gun talk in Arklow

A former London gangster who was once one of the most feared enforcers in the East End criminal underworld is to give a talk in Arklow about how religion saved him from a life of violence.

John Pridmore will share his incredible life story with parishioners in St Mary and Peter’s Church next Monday evening. Pridmore also spoke in Our Lady Queen of Peace in Bray last night.

Pridmore, author of “Gangland to Promised Land”, grew up in London’s East End and turned to crime at an early age.

He worked in organised crime, and was involved in major drug deals, protection rackets and vicious crimes of all sorts, until one day he thought he had killed a man. The experience had a lasting effect on him.

Working from his base in County Leitrim, Pridmore travels around talking to young people and showing them the alternative to the violent lifestyle that he had lived.

He has travelled the world telling his story of redemption and forgiveness to over 2.5 million people in 18 countries.
