TEAM GALEN CHALLENGE:  EPIC CYCLE MIZEN HEAD TO MALIN HEAD

4 TO 7 MAY 2014

Epic Cycle is in aid of needed funds for Greystones man,  Galen English,  and his family.

Galen is paralysed from his chest down following a horrific cycling accident.

The family now needs advanced adaptations to his home where they care for him.

Galen and his wife,  Michelle,  have three children,  and are expecting a fourth child.

 

Galen’s family and friends will cycle 800 kilometres the length of Ireland,  south to north.

Team Galen Challenge are asking the public to donate just one cent per kilometre.

APRIL IS NATIONAL SPRING CLEAN MONTH !!

NATIONAL SPRING CLEAN 2014 IS NOW ON !!

Why not get involved in a spring clean project in your area ??

It is easy to do with the Spring Clean kit from National Spring Clean.

Bray Recycling Centre,  Beechwood Close,  Boghall Hall Road,  Bray,  Opening Hours:

Monday to Thursday           9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Friday                               9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Saturday                           9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

Bray Recycling Centre takes a wide range of clean recyclables + electrical goods.

Also waste paint and waste engine oil.

Reduce landfill and save the environment.

 

CAROLINE FOUNDATION LONGEST RIBBON AWARENESS CHAIN CHALLENGE

The Caroline Foundation is organising a world record fundraising event for 11 May.

A five mile ribbon chain will be formed from Bray to Greystones.

Route will follow Bray seafront over Bray Head via Cliff Walk to Greystones seafront.

This will be a Guinness World Record Challenge.

 

4,000 people will be needed to line the route.

100 groups of people,  with 40 people in each group,  will create the ribbon chain.

Each ribbon holder will be asked to contribute €10.

What is The Caroline Foundation ??

The Caroline Foundation was established in memory of Caroline Dwyer Hickey.

Caroline passed away in 2013,  aged 35,  after a nine year battle with cancer.

Caroline grew up in Greystones and her family lives here.

They formed the Caroline Foundation to help the Cancer Clinical Research Trust.

The Ribbon Chair will help CCRT + Bray Cancer Support + Greystones Cancer Support.

 

What can you do ??

People are needed to help create the ribbon chain and to line the route on the day.

All the people will be divided into groups called cells.

Will you be a cell leader ??  Ask people to join your cell !!

Or … give your name to Helen and she will put you into a cell !!
