On Thursday at approx 12.45hrs both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Siochana to come to the aid of a 17 year old male who had received a lower leg injury after slipping and taking a fall while descending into Glendalough from the Glenealo valley with a group.
Mountain Rescue medics assisted a HSE Advanced Paramedic in treating the young man before he was stretchered to a waiting ambulance. At this point he was transported to hospital for definitive care
