The cargo ship Arklow Ruler has run aground in the mouth of the river Boyne in Drogheda.
The eight-person crewed ship is now stuck in place and efforts to free the ship were unsuccessful yesterday.
There is no danger to the ship or threat of pollution to the surrounding area at present.
The Arklow Raider, a sister ship of the Arklow Ruler, ran aground in October 2012.
The Arklow Ruler was built by Arklow Shipping and launched in 2006.
