Locals turn out in force for charity event

Ballinaclash man T-Bag Carter raised nearly €1450 for Motor Neuron Disease yesterday when he got his head and beard shaved.

The head shave formed part of an event held in Finn’s Pub, Conary, in memory of local man Stephen Moxley, who lost his life to the disease last year.

T-Bag had been growing his hair and beard for nearly 18 months and put in a great effort to raise the money which he said was for ‘an excellent cause’.

Also held was a clay pigeon shoot for the Stephen Moxley Memorial cup which was won by Willie Myers who finished 5 shots in – front of last years winner Tom Mc Donald.

The shoot raised €1580 for the charity.
