Man questioned over the murder of Bray resident

A man in is 20s who was arrested earlier today following the discovery of the body of a 50-year-old women is now being questioned over her murder.

The victim, who was named locally as Lynn Cassidy, was found in a house on the Southern Cross Road at 1.30am this morning.

Her body was taken to Loughlinstown Hospital at 1 pm this afternoon, where Deputy State Pathologist Michael Curtis carried out a post mortem and a preliminary report was passed on to gardai.

The results of the post mortem have not been released but it is understood that she died in violent circumstances.

The man in his 20s was arrested at 11 am this morning and brought to Bray garda station, where he is currently being questioned.

A family liason officer has been appointed to the case and gardai spent most of the day carrying out door-to-door inquiries at the Deepdales estate to try and establish what happened.

It is understood that there was CCTV in operation on the estate and detectives will examine them in the coming days.
