Bray man seeks bail to attend mother’s funeral

Michelle McMullen of East Coast FM reports a man accused of murdering his mother in Bray last Friday, is going to the High Court seeking bail to attend her funeral.

21-year-old Bijan Afshar was charged with killing Lynn Cassidy at a special sitting of Bray District Court last Saturday night , when a psychiatric report was ordered to be carried out on the accused.

The 50-year-old victim was discovered in a house in the Deepdales estate off the Southern Cross Road in Bray early last Friday morning.A post-mortem revealed she died in violent circumstances.

The funeral of Lynn Cassidy is due to take place in Mount Jerome Crematorium on Thursday, 3rd July, at 3.30pm.
