The next meeting of the Arklow Geraldine’s Ballymoney Club Executive will take place in the Wicklow County GAA Board Room in Pearse Park on Wednesday the 3rd of September 2014 at 8pm.
GAA Referee course
Wicklow GAA are running a GAA referee course in the new Centre of Excellence in Ballinakill Rathdrum on 11th, 13th & 15th August at 7.30pm each night. There is no cost to clubs or people attending the course. Arklow Positive Ageing Week

U10 U9 Girls
The U10 and U9 girls took part in a County Blitz in Blessington on Saturday the 2nd of August. The girls headed west to do battle with the girls from Newtown, Baltinglass and Tinahely. Over the three games AGB only conceded 6 scores and scored 12. It is clear that the hard work at training is paying off. For full report see: Girl’s County Blitz at www.arklowgaa.com.
The u9 girls are scheduled to take on Carnew in a challenge match on Tuesday the 12th of August at home. The U10 girls have a Blitz on Saturday the 16th of August with Fingallians, Dublin from 10.30am.
U10 U9 Boys
The U9 / U10 boys had a challenge match against Naomh Eanna, Gorey on the 7th August. This was a great evening for a match and the boys all played with skill and determination and had a great time in the process. Well done boys.
Well done to the U16 boys for winning their semi final of the league against Michael Dwyers on Friday the 8th last. The boys came away convincing winners on a scoreline of 6-15 to 0-9. This was a great team performance by all to reach the final versus St. Nicks. The final will be played on Wednesday the 13th in Ballinakill at 7.30pm. All support appreciated.
The Minor Men lost out to Avondale in their championship game against Avondale on Wednesday the 6th of August. This was a very evenly contested match from the word go but Avondale pulled away in the end. AGB were a very determined team throughout and there were some great displays of football in this close encounter. Final score AGB 3-09 Avondale 4-10.
The Senior Ladies had a good challenge against Clonee on Thursday and some junior players featured and acquitted themselves well. Paula Maher, Emma Furlong, Roisin O’Reilly, Aoife O’Reilly and Lisa Keegan came along to support the senior panel. The Seniors are travelling to Ballylinan on Monday the 11th for a challenge as they continue their preparation for upcoming championship semi-final.
The Junior Men are in action in the Carter Cup on Thursday the 14th of August. They are playing away to Carnew and the match starts at 7.15pm.
The Senior Men are out in League action tonight, Monday the 11th in Pearse Park. They play Aughrim. Kick-off is at 7.30pm. All support welcome!
