Sandra O’Brien from Ballycanew passed away at the age of 23 this year. Her family are doing a charity parachute jump in her memory and also to raise funds for the Irish Kidney Association.
Sanny as we knew her was diagnosed with renal failure shortly after she was born which meant spending the majority of her life on dialysis, including home dialysis. Over the course of her life, she had three kidney transplants, with the last one being 11 years ago. Throughout Sanny’s life the IKA (Irish Kidney Association) have been amazing in the support they not only provided to Sanny but to the entire family.
For anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her she will forever be remembered for her infectious personality and her courage. Her family and friends would describe her as ‘the most fun loving, crazy girl you’d ever meet,’ and that ‘ the first time you met her, you were drawn in for life.’ She lit up a room with the biggest smile, and hearty laugh, and she always lifted the spirits of anyone she met.
To honour Sanny her brother, sister, family and close friends are undertaking a Charity Sky Dive from 10,000 feet on the 20th September to raise some much needed funds for the Irish Kidney Association but specifically the Renal Support Centre in Beaumont Hospital
A donation page was set up online and the support we have received to date has been phenomenal but we want to continue to push and raise as much as we can.
Thank you for your support.
