Avoca senior citizens
The Avoca Senior Citizen biannual summer outing was a very enjoyable day. Firstly we called into Rathwood for tea and scones, then travelled out to explore Kilkenny with its Castle and shopping areas which all made for a very full day. We ended the day at The Meetings of the Waters Avoca, for a great meal.
The committee wish to thank Bogler Coaches of Avoca and their drivers for a perfect journey, and the management and all staff at the Meetings for the excellent food service and music provided for the evening.
The committee extend their thanks to Myles Doyle and staff at the Avoca Recycling Centre for the presentation of a €262 cheque from the Clothes recycling, and also for the proceeds from the sale of the second hand books which are collected in the Senior Citizens buckets which can be found at: Avoca and Rathdrum Credit Unions, Avoca Post Office, Avoca Chemist, Avoca Stores, Henley’s Shop and Cafe, Kelly’s Bar, Fleming’s Shop Rathdrum, Leo’s Bar Conary, and Delaney’s Shop Woodenbridge.
We would like to thank everyone for their generosity to this worthy cause.
