Amnesty international have chosen a song by Wicklow singer Luan Parle to highlight the plight of the children of Gaza.
The song Mercy Cry which appeared on her last album the Full Circle has been accompanied by a new video produced by Ben O’Sullivan who produced the video “Horse Outside” by the Rubber Bandits.
We all witnessed the horrendous images all over our newsfeeds, TV, newspapers of the injured innocent little children of Gaza a while back. It was so distressing to watch I can’t even bring myself to imagine what it must have been like to live through it. Thank God a ceasefire was declared and the killing stopped. However like any war the devastation it has left behind is heart wrenching. Ben O’Sullivan and I wanted to contribute in some small way to help the rebuild for those little children who have been so greatly affected. It’s in the form of a song/video with a text number of which 4 euro is donated to Amnesty International. I’m calling upon you to help me spread the word and share the video. Thank you, L x
Parle is receiving rave reviews as her countrywide tour with Clive Barnes goes into full swing, Pat Nolan of the Conary arts centre told Wicklownews ” They played in Conary last Friday night and I can say hand on heart it was one if not the best show has ever been put on up here in Conary , the punters were actually coming up to me after the show and congratulating me on their performance.”
Barbara Doyle-O’Brien who also attended said ” Have to say, one of the best gigs I ever been to, I had moments of thinking I was listening to Stevie Nicks, Emmylou Harris, Rory Gallagher, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton it was amazing.”
