As the GAA season draws to a close teams in the county are all claiming Billy Byrne the 1798 rebellion, in recent years the statue in Market square in Wicklow town has changed from Blue and white to red and green as St.Patrick’s and Rathnew enjoy football final banter.
But this year it seems as Billy is showing his true colours as this week he is wearing his native colours of Ballymanus the south Wicklow team will take on close neighbors Aughrim this week-end in the intermediate final.
