CONCERT
Join us for a special evening of music and song in St. Kevin’s Church Kilaveney, Tinahely on Friday 28th November. Performing artists will be Celtic Trinity (Denise Brennan, Avril O’Toole and Karen McGillycuddy) with very special guest Fr. Liam Lawton. Also featuring Denise Brennan’s Voiceworks Childrens Choir and Lambert Harpists. The concert commences at 8 p.m. Proceeds shared by St. Kevin’s Church and APA Africa. Tickets €10. TINAHELY WALKING CLUB
On Sunday Oct 26 the walk is Croghan Mountain (grade B, 15km/4 hours approx), meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.00am. On Sunday Nov 2 the walk is Avondale & Rathdrum loop (grade C, 12km/3 hours approx), meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.30am. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. Full walking schedule is on the Tinahely Website.
Social Inclusion Week Event Supporting Mental Health
As part of Social Inclusion Week this year Carnew Training & Development Centre are facilitating a FREE workshoprun by SHINE .
The ‘Taking Control’ Workshop is about taking some time to focus on your own values, goals and wellness. It looks at practical ways to face life’s challenges, whilst maintaining, developing, and taking control of your physical and mental wellbeing.
The aims of the workshop are:
• To raise awareness of already existing positive factors in one’s own life, internally and externally.
• To build resilience in the face of life’s challenges and setbacks.
• To enhance coping skills, especially pre-existing ones.
• To develop and support self-esteem and confidence
Over the past number of years, hundreds of people around the country have benefitted directly from participating in this workshop.
The workshop takes place at Carnew Resource Centre , Mill Lane on Tuesday 25th November 2014 from 9am – 4pm.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Johnny Behan, Beechmount who died during the week and was buried in Tomacork cemetry on Thursday.

BAZAAR
The annual Bazaar for All Saints Church Carnew will take place on this Friday 24th October at 7pm in Colaiste Bhride Carnew with a cake stall, botte stall, bric a brac, teas, plants, raffles and more all welcome to come along.
VARIETY NIGHT
A variety night of local talent, drama, music, comedy, dance and more will take place on this Saturday 25th October at 8.15pm in St Brigid’s Hall Carnew refreshments served admission adults €10 student and family concessions. All welcome.
MEDJUGORJE RETREAT WEEKEND

The winner of the Pride in Carnew lotto 8th October was Mick Cahill seller Lisa Harris, 15th Sue Doyle, seller Mary Hall.
FASHION SHOW
The fashion show which was to be held on 16th October in McCrea’s has been changed to this Thursday 23rd at 8pm, all welcome.
FUN RIDEOUT
A fun rideout will be held on Bank holiday Monday 27th October at 10.30am starting in Askamore Church car park adults €20 children €10 enquires to Mary Sharry 0876256481 refreshments served in the hall afterwards.
CARD GAME
A card game will be held on Monday 3rd November in Askamore hall in aid of Console and the local Community Text Alert, your support would be greatly appreciated.
ASKAMORE HALL AGM
The AGM of Askamore hall wilL be held on Thursday 13th November at 8pm as many of the local community as possible are asked to attend.
VINTAGE RUN
The Crablane vintage club are holding their vintage run on Sunday 26th October at 12 noon registration is by donation on the day.
COFFEE MORNING
A coffee morning will be held on Friday 31st October from 10am – 1pm at the Courthouse Arts Centre Tinahely, all welcome.
