Councillor John Brady described a meeting held in Bray last night against water charges as an excellent meeting to plan a North Wicklow Right 2 Water rally on 1 November.
Several groups and unions were represented and many brilliant suggestions were made from the people in attendance who had one main objective, the abolition of water charges.
It has been decided to march on the town centre from 3 different locations on the day. We will be assembling at Lidl in Little Bray, St Fergals church in Ballywaltrim and the old Dell building at the end of the Boghall Rd.
The 3 groups will leave at 2pm and march down the Killarney Rd, Vevay Rd and along Castle St before meeting in the town centre at the Civic plaza for the main rally and speeches.
This has the potential to be the largest protest that North Wicklow has seen in years.
We need to spread the word and make sure people mobilise on the day to send a message to the government that they must abolish water charges.
Councillor Brady praised the people of Arklow for the large turnout last Saturday in what was described as one of the biggest protests held in the town for many a year.
