Amazing milestone for our Anthony

Arklow musician Anthony Byrne the Celtic Piper has reached a new milestone, as the video he features in with the Celtic Woman has been viewed over 20 million times.

The song Amazing Grace which was recorded as part of a concert in Powerscourt in Enniskerry for DVD was uploaded in 2011.

Anthony posted his message today on the new Arklow Music and Arts Scene Facebook page .

Speaking to Wicklownews.net,  Anthony said ” I cannot believe my luck, a few years ago I was in my internet cafe and DVD shop on the Main Street of Arklow, trying to work out my future as Wifi and the Smartphone were starting to erode my business. I decided to close up shop and work with my mother making kiddies furniture. Then out of the blue I got a call to see if I might play with the High Kings as the member of the Arklow pipe band they had asked for was busy. I took up the offer and the rest is kinda history. I have now traveled the whole world with the Celtic Woman and feel blessed.”

Anthony is looking forward to Celtic Woman’s home coming concert which will be held in the 3 Arena on Saturday January the 24th 2015 to make the 10th anniversary of the Celtic Woman, if you wish to attend visit TicketMaster here
