At a very well attended A.G.M. held in the Community Complex on Friday last December 12th Aughrim G.A.A. reviewed an excellent year both on and off the field.
Chairman Liam Keenan in his address congratulated the players and management team of the Intermediate football team which brought back the County title to the Village after an absence of 15 years.
This together with a very successful year for our juveniles at all age levels in both hurling and football augurs well for the future of the Club he stated. Both Denis Mangan Secretary and John Gunning Treasurer provided the meeting with very detailed and professional reports on the activities of the Club for the year.
Congratulations were extended to the Chairman and Finance Committee for all their hard work during the year. Celebrations for the year ended with the presentation night held in Lawless’ Hotel on November 25th attended by County Chairman Martin Coleman at which the County champions of 2014 together with the 1964 Junior Hurling County champion winning team were honoured.
Given the successful year of the Club it was no surprise that all of our outgoing Officers were returned unanimously. The next event on the Club social calendar will be the Juvenile draw in Paddy’s Bar on Saturday next December 20th. Tickets for this draw are still on sale. Parents of juveniles and senior players are asked to come along and support this night.
