Aughrim

Aughrim Juvenile Club

The Aughrim Juvenile GAA club and Camogie Club held their annual presentation evening in the sports complex recently. Guests of honour were Liamie Keenan, captain of the winning Intermediate football team and Robert Lambert, clubman and county goalkeeper. A big thank you to the coaches who helped out on the day and to John Gunning who did an excellent job as MC. All the kids from U6, U8 and U10 received their Go Games medals, while the high flying U12 football team received medals and trophies for winning the Mini Festival final and League during the year. Presentations were made to the U8, U10, U12,U13 and U14 Camogie teams who also did the village proud by bringing home even more silverware during the year.

The indoor hurling will finish up on Tuesday December 9th for the Christmas break and start up again on Tuesday January 6th. As you all know the juvenile club is running a Christmas raffle this year, tickets are on sale throughout the village, the draw will take place in Paddy’s bar on December 20th. There are some fantastic prizes on offer, with J Byrne & Son Ltd sponsoring first prize of a Hamco Stove. We ask that all sellers make a big effort to sell their tickets. All the funds raised go directly in to funding juvenile activities throughout the year and your support is much appreciated. The Juvenile Club would like to take this opportunity to wish all its members a very happy and safe Christmas.
Thrift Shop Customer Appreciation Day

December 19th is “New to You” customer appreciation day. There will be Teas, Coffees, Mulled Wine, Biscuits and sweets for the children from 10- 4pm, to show our appreciation for all your support over the last few years.

GAA AGM

The AGM of the club will be held this Friday 12th December 12th at 8pm in the complex. After huge success this year it is hoped it will be a sizeable turn out as we try to continue to make forward strides. The club therefore hopes that there will be a full attendance of all players, members, juvenile committee and mentors and supporters of Aughrim GAA. A special welcome is extended to anyone with young children who would like to help out.

The clubs juvenile section presented their medals recently. The presentations to the young footballers and hurlers were made by County Star Robert Lambert and Intermediate Captain Liam Keenan. Wicklow GAA year book is on sale in Rednagh Stores and Londis Shop.
