SYMPATHY
Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Paddy Nolan, Valley Heights who died during the week, his remains were removed to Carnew on Thursday evening and burial took place on Friday in Clonegal cemetry.
AGM
Carnew Emmetts AGM will be held on Thursday 18th December at 8pm in Colasite Bhride Carnew, all welcome to come along.

Carnew Community Care Boutique takes place every Friday from 10 am to 2pm on the Main Street with lots of bargans to be had and homemade christmas cakes, puddings, buns, cakes etc, all welcome.

Carnew emmett camogie club had their AGM recently in Jim Byrnes lounge. The chairperson thanked last years committee for all their work throughout the year and wished the best of luck to the incoming committee for the year ahead. The new committee is as follows.

Sing Ye All Noel
Students of Colaiste Bhride will present their annual festive concert of music and song entitled Sing Ye All Noel in All Saints Church, Carnew on Friday 12th December at 7.30pm. Entry is €5 and tickets are available from the school and performers.
FORGET ME NOT TREE
Baubles are still on sale for the Forget Me Not Christmas Tree in Askamore Church where mass will be celebrated on 21st December at 11am, baubles €3 each or two for €5 from Askamore Child Care Centre or any parent.
CREDIT UNION AGM
Carnew Credit Union are holding their AGM on Tuesday 16th December at 8pm in their offices, all members welcome.
TALK
A talk “Coping with the challanges of Life today for families in rurual communities” will be held in Askamore Activity Centre on Thursday 11th December at 8pm cover charge €4 all welcome to attend.

Congratulations and well done to Mick Kelly Gala Carnew who won the Shop Person of the Year Award 2014 in Dublin on Friday last, he was interviewed on the Ray Darcy show, well done Mick and well deserved.

Heartiest congratulations to Mick Kelly, manager of Candys, who won the Today FM and Bord Gais Energy Best in Ireland Award for Best Shopkeeper at a ceremony on Friday morning in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre. Mick spoke highly of the fantastic community in Carnew when presented with his award on The Ray D’Arcy Show. In a show of the excitement felt in the area Mick was treated to a surprise reception at Candys on his return on Friday evening when many locals came out to express their congratulations. Great news for Mick and great news for Carnew, well done Mick.
TINAHELY WALKING CLUB
On Sunday Dec 14 the walk is at Trooperstown (Grade C, 12-14km, 3.5 hours approx) meeting in Tinahely square at 10.00pm. On Sunday Dec 21 the walk is down as the “Local Mince Pie Walk” which should be interesting. (Grade C, 10km, meeting in Tinahely Square at 11.00am. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. (Walk grades: A is the hardest and C is the easiest – depends on gradient and duration.)
