The Little Book of Wicklow by Chris Lawlor was launched in Meitheal last Friday night. The book was dedicated to the late Rev.Joe Whittle and was launched by Rev. Joe’s nephew Jimmy who praised Chris for the wonderful publication on the Garden County. The book is on sale in the local shops at € 13, great stocking filler or a nice gift for family members abroad.

DUNLAVIN CHRISTMAS LIGHTS CEREMONY
The Dunlavin & District Forum invite you to celebrate Christmas at the Market House on Saturday 6th December at 5pm for a mulled wine and mince pie reception. This will be followed by Christmas Carols outside the Market House and lighting of the Christmas tree and Christmas lights.
This year our Christmas tree will be transformed in to a Remembrance Tree. Tea light jars will be placed at the tree to remember those who cannot be with us this Christmas and labels will hang on the tree over the Christmas period.
The annual Christmas Fair will take place in the Imaal Hall on Sunday 7th December between 10am and 4pm. Santa will arrive at 2pm.
We would especially like to thank Wicklow County Council for the use of the Market House.
Thank you for all the support throughout the year and we look forward to working together in our Community in 2015.
Donoughmore Christmas whist drive will take place on Friday December 19th at 8.30pm in Donoughmore Hall. This promises to he a great night . Great prizes and a super raffle .
Sympathy is extended to Trish and Paul Doyle and family on the death of Trish’s brother Kevin Keenan in Ballymore Eustace. Kevin’s funeral took place in Hollywood, may he rest in peace.
A Christmas Concert will take place in St Nicholas of Myra Church on December 18th at 7.30pm. The students from Scoil Nicholas Naofa will perform on the night.

Donard/Glen will hold a table quiz in Toomeys Pub , Donard on December 5th at 9pm. Support would be appreciated.

We are delighted to have Kate Bullman and her therapy dog, Brambles visiting the school each week. She is here every Wednesday afternoon.
We would ask parents who park at the entrance to Dunlavin Playground to be very vigilant of children crossing. Parents should not park in front of the crossing points at that location. They should allow for children and parents with buggies to cross in safety.

Parent and Toddler Group
Dunlavin Community Playschool’s Parent & Toddler group meet every Wednesday from 10am-12noon in the Jonathan Swift Hall behind the playschool. Cost is €3 per adult. More details contact 045/406866.
The Dunlavin Men’s Shed is now open, and meeting every Tuesday from 10am-2pm and Thursday nights 7.30pm to 9.30pm. in Murtagh’s. All welcome. Some interesting projects lined up for Christmas.

Community text alert has been launched in the Dunlavin area. Residents can sign up for €10. Forms are in Ed’s Veg shop. People are urged to be vigilant at all times and contact the Gardai if the spot anything suspicious in the area.
