Gardai seize €130,000 worth of cannabis in Avoca yesterday

Gardai seized a large amount of cannabis during a raid on a house in Avoca yesterday afternoon.

Officers raided the house at Cherrymount and seized 150 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of €120,000.

They also seized a large amount of cultivating equipment during the raid. It is not known how long the house was being used to cultivate the plants.

A man in his 30s was arrested and later released without charge. A file is being prepared for the DPP
