Man to go on trial for assault in murder case

The Irish Times report a trial date has been set after 7 people were charged with the murder of Dale Creighton in Tallaght, Co.Dublin on New Year’s Day.

James O’Brien (22) with an address at The Mill, Baltinglass, is charged with assault causing harm to Mr Creighton.

Dale Creighton died in hospital on January the 2nd after he was injured in Tallaght.

Charged with the murder are Aisling Burke (21), David Burke(26) both with addresses at Beechpark, Collinstown, Co Westmeath, Graham Palmer (24) of Park Avenue, Portarlington, Co Laois; Ross Callery (21), Gortlum Cottages, Brittas, Co Dublin; James Reid (24), Glen Aoibhinn, Gorey, Co Wexford; Jason Beresford (21), Coill Diarmuida, Casledermot, Co Kildare; and Gerard Stephens (25), Grosvner Square, Rathmines in Dublin.

The trial date is set for the 3rd of October 2015 and is expected to last eight weeks.
