The Tommy Byrne Photographic Society (TBPS) is hosting Photo School 2015 – a course on Photography in the Bridge Hotel, Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
Members of the TBPS will be in the Bridgewater Shopping Centre this Saturday the 13th of December from 9:30 till 5:30 (outside New Look) and again on Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th of January. If your interested in cameras, photography or just want to learn how to take better pictures why not come along, pick up a flyer and have a chat with us this Saturday. If someone you know is interested in photography you can come along on Saturday and even get them a voucher towards the cost of the photography course as a great Christmas present.
Photo-school enrolment prices are €25 for students, €35 for unwaged and €50 for a single adult. By enrolling in the course you also get free membership to the Tommy Byrne Photographic Society until March of 2016 (that’s 3 months extra for free) and all the benefits of that membership e.g. outings, photo hunt, competitions with prizes, etc. As members you will also be able to take advantage of guest speakers who are invited along regularly to present / talk throughout the year.
The course itself takes place in a very friendly and relaxed environment. It will consist of various presentations, demonstrations, question and answer sessions, etc. Each week comprehensive notes on the nights topics will be handed out for you to keep. The course runs each Wednesday at 8:30p.m. beginning on the 14th of January for 8 weeks. Enrolment for the course takes place from 8p.m. to 8:30p.m. on Wednesday January 7th 2015 – the rest of the night will be a relaxed meet and greet between new and old members (we are a social society after all).
The course content initially begins with “A beginners guide to photography”, then moves on over the following weeks to cover Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, The Exposure Triangle, composition, lenses (e.g. do you know what a lens baby is?) tripods, camera controls, saving your photos to your computer, printing, caring for and displaying your photographs, to name but a few.
So if you are new to photography or just want to improve your skills, come along to Bridgewater on either Saturday the 13th of December, Saturday the 3rd or Sunday the 4th of January or just come along and enrol on Wednesday 7th January at 8pm and you will have a practical opportunity to learn and practice photography in a fun and friendly environment. Meetings take place on the ground floor of the Bridge Hotel.
