TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

On Sunday Feb 1 the walk is Church Mountain near Donard (Grade B, 12km, 3.5 hours) meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.30am. On Sun Feb 8 the walk is in the Clonegal area (Grade C, 10-12, 2.5 hours approx) meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.30am. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. (Walk grades: A is the hardest and C is the easiest – depends on gradient and duration.) Full walking schedule is on the Tinahely Website.

KNITTING
Anyone who is interested in knitting for charities? Carnew Community Care are looking for knitted hats, mitts, bootees, matinee coats for premature babies and blankets size 12 x 18, 20 x 24 or 24 x 34, or squares which can be put together, they can be left into the Community Care or contact Mary Blake or Shelia Kirwan.

 

PRIDE IN CARNEW LOTTO
The winner of the lotto was Caroline Young, seller Victor Young, previous week Lena Elliott seller Mary Hall. There is still a few places available on the lotto, contact any of the committee to join or Victor Young. your support is greatly appreciated.

 

ALL STAR AWARDS
Congratulations to all sports people on their All Stars Award which they received last Saturday night in the Arklow Bay Hotel but especially minor hurler of the year Enda Donohue, Carnew and Intermediate footballer Robert Lambert Aughrim, well done to all.

 

HERITAGE CLUB AGM
A good crowd attended the Heritage club AGM last Tuesday night, the chairman thanked everyone involved for all their hard work during the year and especially for the working day in September which was a great success, plans are underway for this years which will be held on 13th September and the road run on the 17th May, the following were elected president John Nolan, chairman Jimmy Doran, secretary Fintan Kemple, treasurer Patrick Nolan, assistant Michael Kinsella, events officer Kevin McEvoy, PRO Susanne O’Sullivan.

Carnew St Patrick’s Day Parade for the Community
by the Community

 

Volunteers Needed
St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on the Tuesday 17th March this year. This year’s Parade is being run for the Community, by the Community. In order to ensure that this Parade is a success we are calling on members of the Community to volunteer for an hour or two on the day. This would make a big difference overall.

Carnew camogie club
Registration night, Friday, 6th feb, 7-8pm in clubhouse at sportsfield. Spread the word for new and old players, get registered in time for the new season.

Fees for underage is as follows €25 for single player; €40 for 2 sisters; & €60 for family of 3 plus.
Also upcoming fund raiser of a race night in February. Please support cards on sale now from players and committee.
