Sinead O’Rourke has sent us the following appeal from Brighton.
Looking for LAURENCE O’ROURKE (DOB : 27-04-1946) Born Holles St Hospital, Dublin, IRELAND Mother: KATHLEEN MAHER, confirmed ENISKERRY, WICKLOW 14-06-1956.
His brother and my father, pictured, (DESMOND O’ROURKE: DOB : 24-09-1948) were both left at ST THERESA’s Baby Home, Temple Hill, Blackrock, Dublin.
Both baptised at St Andrew’s Church, Westland Row, Dublin2.
Laurence was picked up by their mother in 1950, my father and he were never reunited and ended up in care.
My father has been ill this year with a heart condition and now wishes to trace his family lost in the church care system on Ireland in 1950.
Laurence may or may not know he had a brother who was in care with him.
