Catering Support
If you are interested in a career in the catering industry there will be a catering course commencing in the Education Centre in Blessington in February. The course will be run 3 days a week until June. It will feature Guest speakers, site visits and work placement, plus use of catering equipment competently and safely, customer care and development of food service skills. Sympathy
Sympathy is extended to the Conlon family, Church Terrace on the death of Jim last week. Jim is mourned by Margaret, James, Angela, Priscilla, Pamela, Melissa and Michaela, brother Joe , sisters Mary and Theresa, funeral Mass took place in Dunlavin on Sunday January 25th 2015 and burial took place in Baltinglass. May Jim rest in peace.

“Brawl off the Ball”
Dunlavin GAA are holding a joint undraiser with local club Donard/Glen on February 7th in St Laurence’s GAA complex in Crookstown at 8pm. Tickets are €20 and are on sale in Ed’d Fruit and Veg or from any committee member.

Baltinglass and District Country Market

“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”
Scoil Nioclais Naofa’s Parents Association are hosting the Girls Night out in Dunlavin GAA Club on February 20th 2015 at 8pm. This is a fun night which includes a welcome reception, Buy & Design Fashion Show, Fashion Stalls, Free Hair and Beauty Treatments and entertainment from Sister Act. Tickets € 20 available from the School office or committee members.

Trip to Lourdes
It is hoped to organise a parish trip to Lourdes later this year. Anyone interested should contact the parish office. 045/401871

Community Games
Westside community games would like to thank everyone who supported our church gate collection in Dunlavin ,Donard , Davidstown,and Stratford on the 25th of Jan.
€400 was raised from this collection.

Camogie News
Donard Glen Camogie club cater for girls of all ages. We are currently recruiting for 2015. Underage training continues on Wednesday evenings. Under 8 training in Imaal Hall from 6-7pm.
Training for 10-12 year olds in St Kevins Community college from 6-7pm and 12-14 year olds from 7-8pm.

Club registration day takes place in Donard Hall on Saturday February 7th from 10-11:30am.

Adult training starts on Wednesday February 7th. New members welcome.

As a church fundraiser an American Tea Party will take place on March 16th in the Imaal Hall. Tickets at €20 will be available from the parish office 045/401871

Spring/Summer Fashion Show
A fashion show in aid of St. Kevin’s Community College will take place on Wednesday March 25th 2014 in Rathsallagh House. Tickets are €10 and support would be appreciated.

Social Badminton
Badminton for fun takes place every Thursday night in the Imaal Hall at 8.30pm. All welcome.

Looking for a nice piece of furniture or some Bric-A-Brac why not drop into the newly opened shop The Olde Chair on Stephen’s Street, Dunlavin (beside Rose’s Cafe). Great bargains to be got.

Unislim
A Unislim class has commenced in the parish centre Dunlavin on Tuesday mornings 11am to 12 noon. A great opportunity to shed those unwanted pounds before Christmas.

Parent and Toddler Group
Dunlavin Community Playschool’s Parent & Toddler group meet every Wednesday from 10am-12noon in the Jonathan Swift Hall behind the playschool. Cost is €3 per adult. More details contact 045/406866.

Men’s Shed
They meet every Tuesday from 10am-2pm and Thursday nights 7.30pm to 9.30pm. in Murtagh’s. If anyone has tools or timber that they could donate to the shed it would be greatly appreciated. All welcome.

Friendship Club
The friendship club takes every Friday at 3pm in the parish centre. New members welcome.

Walking
Anyone wishing to join walking group meet at Imaal Hall on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9.30am.

Community Text Alert
Coming into the winter evenings people are asked to check in on elderly neighbours.
Community text alert has been launched in the Dunlavin area. Residents can sign up for €10. Forms are in Ed’s Veg shop. People are urged to be vigilant at all times and contact the Gardai if the spot anything suspicious in the area.

Why not drop into the newly refurbished library in the Market House. Great selection of new books especially for children. Membership is free, free WI-Fi and internet access.The daily and local newspapers are available to read. Opening hours Tuesday 6.30pm-8.30pm, Wednesday 3pm-5pm, 6.30pm-8.30pm.Friday 10.30am-1pm and 3pm-5pm. Saturday 11am-1pm. Closed Saturdays of Bank Holiday weekends.

Jackpot
Bingo takes place in the Imaal Hall every Saturday night at 9pm. Jackpot waiting to be won now stands at €2000. The funds raised by the Bingo goes towards the upkeep of the Imaal Hall and well worth supporting.
