Gardai in Arklow are investigating a house break-in at a house in the Fernhill area of the town in the early hours of Monday morning.
The family of four were woken up around 5am when they heard a large crash in a room downstairs, the Father of the family rushed downstairs as the raider fled the house. He ran in the direction of the graveyard on the Emoclew road.
A number of items including a set of keys were taken and a widescreen TV had been removed from the wall, all the presses including the fridge had been searched in the kitchen.
A homemade device (Pictured above) was used to gain entry to the house through the front door.
The device was put through the letterbox and looped around the handle.
