Congratulations to the AGB Scór Sinsear Ballad Group who travelled to Birr, Co Offaly to compete in the Leinster semi-finals of the Sinsear competiton on Saturday March 7th. The group of Sean O Conchuir, Geraldine Hamilton, Kathryn Noone and Mary Graham saw off stiff opposition to qualify for the Leinster Finals which will take place in Ballymore, Co. Westmeath on Sunday March 29th at 3pm. Best of luck to all involved! Congratulations to Jimmy Dunne on being selected as Grand Marshal for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Arklow. Jimmy is a fitting ambassador for Arklow town and Wicklow county. He does great work for clubs and organizations in the town and county. AGB are delighted to see him receive this fitting tribute. AGB Adult Ladies
Well done to the Senior and Junior Ladies teams who were in competition with each other on Sunday the 8th of March in their first game of the season. The ladies played a very competitive match in the Cup competition. Training for AGB U16, Minor, Junior and Senior Ladies is currently on Tuesdays from 7.30pm -9pm in the Rugby Club and Fridays from 8pm -9pm on the Astroturf in Pearse Park. This will revert to Tuesdays and Fridays at 7pm sharp in Ballymoney pitch when Ballymoney reopens after St. Patrick’s Day. The Cup competition kicks off on March 8th with AGB 1 v AGB 2, Second Round AGB 1 v Tinahely and AGB 2 v Clara on March 15th. New members very welcome. Cup fixtures at www.arklowgaa.com.
AGB Ladies Training
Training for U16 – Adult ladies is on Tuesdays from 7.30pm -9pm in the Rugby Club and Fridays from 8pm -9pm on the Astroturf in Pearse Park. This will revert to Tuesdays and Fridays at 7pm sharp in Ballymoney pitch when Ballymoney reopens after St. Patrick’s Day.
Training for AGB U14 girls’ is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.30pm -7pm in Pearse Park (Top Pitch).
Training for AGB U12 girls has started back. Initially this will be on Saturdays at 12.15pm-1.45pm on the Astroturf in Pearse Park until pitches reopen. This will change to Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.30pm -7pm in Pearse Park (Training pitch) later.
Training for AGB U10 girls has started back. Initially this will be on Saturdays at 12.45pm-2pm on the Astroturf in Pearse Park until pitches reopen. This will extend to Tuesdays from 5.30pm -7pm in Pearse Park (Training pitch) later.
Training for AGB U8 girls is provisionally set to start back from Saturday April 11th. Training will be on Saturdays from 11.15am-12.15pm on the Astroturf/Training pitch in Pearse Park.
Academy times/dates to be confirmed. New members very welcome at all levels. Registered Players should keep an eye on text messages to keep them updated to changes in training venues.
