To mark Paddy’s Day/Week/Month (it grows by the year), the Greystones Film Club’s March screening will be Lenny Abrahamson’s stunning 2004 debut Adam & Paul. Which just happens to be an Irish film that we can be proud of. Begorrah.
Written by Mark O’Halloran (who shares the lead with the late, great Tom Murphy), this beguiling mix of tragedy and comedy follows two Dublin junkies over one memorable day, from waking up unwashed and somewhat slightly dazed on rough ground in a north Dublin estate to their cold welcome from old friends in the heart of the city, as they search for another fix.
Traditionally on Tuesdays, the monthly Greystones Film Club screenings have now moved to the First Wednesday of each month. The location (The Happy Pear), the time (8pm), and the price (just €2) remains the same.Fo further info, you can email sirpaulbyrne@gmail or phone 087 2848684, or visit the Greystones Film Club’s Facebook page.
