Mountain Rescue aid teenagers close to Lough Tay

Callout 13 – White Hill – March 6th

At approximately 12.45 on March 6th the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and the Glen Of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were alerted to an incident involving two casualties in a walking group in Wicklow.

The youth group had been walking part of the Wicklow Way near the JB Malone memorial on White Hill when one girl sustained a lower leg injury.

Coincidentally, another girl in the same group slipped and sustained a cut to her knee.

Experienced leaders with the group gave initial aid and they were soon joined by Mountain Rescue personnel. Luckily they were quite near a track and the injured pair was assisted the short distance to a waiting MR Vehicle which then brought them to Rescue Base at the JBMalone car-park.

The two young hikers were checked by EMTs and advised about further care but were happy to take their group transport home.

The incident was stood down about 13:50. Thanks to all those who responded.
