Up to 150 feared dead following French plane crash

A Germanwings A320 has crashed in France this morning, killing 142 passengers and 6 crew it has been reported.

The plane, which was en-route from Barcelona to Düsseldorf, went down near the town of Barcelonnette about 100 km north of the French Riviera city of Nice.

French President Francois Hollande has told reporters that there will likely be “no survivors”.

At this stage the cause of the tragedy is unknown.
