Dunlavin Tidy Towns Spring Clean up
Dunlavin Tidy Towns committee invite all local groups, individuals and residents associations to take part in the National ‘Spring Clean-up’ on Tuesday 7th of April at 10.00 a.m. Come along to the Green where all interested in taking part will meet and be provided with bags, gloves and litter pickers. This clean-up is part of Ireland’s biggest anti-litter initiative and everyone is encouraged to take pride in their local environment.
Making a conscious effort to keep Dunlavin smart and litter-free is everyone’s responsibility; the combined efforts of the tidy towns’ organisation, the local Fás staff and volunteers will go a long way towards making the town attractive for visitors and residents alike.

Culture Bus
The culture bus will travel to visit the wonderful Mount Congreve Gardens in Waterford on Sunday April 19th . The bus will leave Dunlavin at 10.30am, will visit the gardens in the morning and the museums in the city in the afternoon. Enquiries to 0879693960.

Flower Club
The April meeting of the flower club takes place on Wednesday April 8th 2015 in the Jonathan Swift Hall at 8pm.This is a gala fundraiser for Baltinglass Daycare Unit and is a demonstration by Suzanne Cray. Your support for this event will be welcome.

Tom Crean Story
The Tom Crean story of the Antartica takes place in Rathsallagh House on Monday April 27th at 7pm. The night includes dinner and the show for €65.

Golf Society Results
The Dunlavin Inn Golf Society next outing Saturday April 25th to Athy. New Members welcome.

Yoga Lessons
Yoga classes will commence in the Jonathan Swift Hall on April 18th at 8pm. Classes are suitable for beginners. For more details contact indigoyogadublin@gmail.com or text 087/9235865.

Line Dancing
Line dancing takes place in the Imaal Hall every Wednesday night at 8pm. €6 per night.

Golf Classic
A date for your diary if you are a golfer. St Nicholas of Myra Church will hold a golf classic on Saturday May 9th in Baltinglass Golf Club Tee time will be 1.30pm to 5pm..Team of 4 €160 which includes meal and prizes. Ride Out
Donard /Glen will hold a rideout/5k walk on Sunday April 12th commencing at Fentons, Glen of Imaal at 1pm. This is a fundraiser for St Nicholas Juvenile GAA club. Cap for ride out is Adults €20, Children €10, walk Adults €5 Children €3. Refreshments will be served in Fentons Bar after the event.

Baltinglass and District Country Market

Trip to Lourdes
It is hoped to organise a parish trip to Lourdes for September 22nd 2015. Cost €729. Anyone interested should contact the parish office. 045/401871

Spring/Summer Fashion Show
A fashion show in aid of St. Kevin’s Community College will take place on Wednesday March 25th 2014 in Rathsallagh House. Tickets are €10 and support would be appreciated.

Social Badminton
Badminton for fun takes place every Thursday night in the Imaal Hall at 8.30pm. All welcome.

A Unislim class has commenced in the parish centre Dunlavin on Tuesday mornings 11am to 12 noon. A great opportunity to shed those unwanted pounds before Christmas.

Parent and Toddler Group
Dunlavin Community Playschool’s Parent & Toddler group meet every Wednesday from 10am-12noon in the Jonathan Swift Hall behind the playschool. Cost is €3 per adult. More details contact 045/406866.

Men’s Shed
They meet every Tuesday from 10am-2pm and Thursday nights 7.30pm to 9.30pm. in Murtagh’s. If anyone has tools or timber that they could donate to the shed it would be greatly appreciated. All welcome.

Friendship Club
The friendship club takes every Friday at 3pm in the parish centre. New members welcome.

Anyone wishing to join walking group meet at Imaal Hall on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9.30am.

Community Text Alert
Coming into the winter evenings people are asked to check in on elderly neighbours.
Community text alert has been launched in the Dunlavin area. Residents can sign up for €10. Forms are in Ed’s Veg shop. People are urged to be vigilant at all times and contact the Gardai if the spot anything suspicious in the area.

Why not drop into the newly refurbished library in the Market House. Great selection of new books especially for children. Membership is free, free WI-Fi and internet access.The daily and local newspapers are available to read. Opening hours Tuesday 6.30pm-8.30pm, Wednesday 3pm-5pm, 6.30pm-8.30pm.Friday 10.30am-1pm and 3pm-5pm. Saturday 11am-1pm. Closed Saturdays of Bank Holiday weekends.

Bingo takes place in the Imaal Hall every Saturday night at 9pm. Jackpot waiting to be won now stands at €2000. The funds raised by the Bingo goes towards the upkeep of the Imaal Hall and well worth supporting.
