School Sports

An Tochar GAA will again host a school sports day for Roundwood & Moneystown Schools. This year’s sports day will be on Monday 15th June at the Complex, and will run from 9pm – 2.30 pm.

We urgently need a large number of people to help on the day, from about 8.30 am.

Please let John Byrne know if you are available on the day. Also, if you know any teenagers who will be on school holidays, who would like to help, please let him know.

Noel Leahy, our excellent Tús worker became a dad again last week. Baby Bradley weighed in at 10lbs and should be lining out on the under 8s in a few months time !! Congrats to Noel & his partner !

Go Games

On Sat last,6th June, An Tochar hosted the June blitz with teams from across the county represented.

Our U8 squad had the largest turnout of all teams present on the day with 18 girls ready & able for action. Newtown, Baltinglass & Tinahely provided the opposition in 3 keenly contested games. There was lots of jersey swapping as all girls got their game time – some girls even swapped An Tochar blue for Tinahely red in the last game ! Well done to all girls who showed great improvement. A lively bunch of u10 girls turned up in full force ready to  face their opponents. The An Tochar girls got off to a flying start playing Arklow were they all showed  great enthusiasm battling hard to keep Arklow away from the An Tochar goal, in particular  Kerri and Niamh and new comers Grace and Tess.  Next up the An Tochar gals encountered  an experienced St Pats side. Everyone gave their best, Carla in goal pulled off some amazing saves,  Ella and Abby displayed  their skill and determination. In the final game against Carnew all the girls gave a very spirited performance. Nina showed great composure in the back line while  Ciara, Casings, Ami-Louise and Hannah all working  very well together to stop the Car new march on An Tochar.  Overall fitness, kicking and the confidence to take a score have hugely  improved, keep up the good work girls!  The panel on the day was:
