Intermediate Men
The Intermediate Men had a good win against Knockananna on Saturday the 30th of May. Final score AGB 6-10 to Knockananna 0-6.

Junior Men
The tables were turned on the Junior Men who took a hard defeat to Carnew Emmetts, a Junior A team. Final score: AGB 0-6 Carnew 5-13.

Senior Ladies
AGB Senior Ladies took on Bray in the league on Monday May 25th and had their strongest panel to date out in this away fixture. Bray suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the Arklow side but AGB did not have it all their own way and Bray outplayed them for much of the third quarter as the Arklow girls lost their shape and concentration. Three goals from the boot of Jessie McElheron wiped out the Bray challenge in the closing minutes but clearly both sides will be further along the road in their preparation when championship comes around and it appears that this year there will be plenty of contenders for the senior ladies title.

Junior Ladies
AGB Junior ladies played an under-strength Blessington team in Pearses’ Park on Saturday May 23rd 2015. This was played as a friendly as Blessington had only 10 players available on the night. They very sportingly made the long journey from West Wicklow and the ladies played the full 60 minutes in what proved to be a great training session for both teams. AGB, having the extra players to run subs in and out, had the upper hand on the day but Blessington worked hard to cover the not insignificant ground with a mere ten players. Both of these teams will be contenders in the Junior Championship this season when they are, hopefully, at full strength.

U16 Girls
U16 Ladies games will continue after the exams are concluded. Good luck to all sitting either Junior or Leaving Certificate Examinations at this time. We are rooting for you all. Training continues for those not doing exams on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7.30pm in Pearses’ Park. Exam students are welcome also if you feel the need to have some exercise but are not required to attend training.

Ladies Registrations
Registrations are now complete. Anyone paying in instalments is asked to get the balance in as soon as possible.

U14 Div1 Girls
The U14 girls were in League action on the 28th of May against a gallant Baltinglass side. This team is like Jekyll and Hyde at the minute and you don’t know what way the girls will play. Having most of the play in the first half AGB could only manage 1-3 for their many attempts, and when Baltinglass came up field for a goal it looked like it was going to be one of those days for AGB. Perhaps school exams and the long drive had taken their toll on this talented bunch, but the half time team talk had the desired effect as the girls grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and rattled in some cracking goals, with the whole team getting first to the ball and playing as they can. Final score: Baltinglass 1-2 AGB 8-5. Once again, thanks to the parents who provided lifts tonight – an important cog in the teams wheel.
