Wicklow Library Service Launches Children’s Summer Reading Adventure
The school summer holidays are almost upon us and Dunlavin Library has announced plans for its annual summer reading programme. The Summer Reading Adventure kicks off on 23nd June and continues until 22nd August. During this time, children are encouraged to read six or more books of their choice and every participant will be awarded a certificate at the end.
Children can register for the programme at the library where they will receive a Summer Reading Card to record their reading progress and a free book bag to hold all those great books they plan to read.
The Summer Reading Programmes have always been hugely popular with junior members of Wicklow libraries and are very effective at keeping children engaged with reading during the summer holidays.
This fun programme is open to all children and is completely free. Further information is available athttp://www.librarieslireland.ie/summer-reading-adventure . To register for this event and to find out what’s happening this summer, drop into the library and ask a librarian!
