Wicklow RNLI Inshore lifeboat assisted two fishermen on a six metre fishing boat in difficulties off Kiloughter beach this morning. (Friday 5th June)
The lifeboat with three volunteer crew launched at 8-55am following a report that the boat had a rope fouled in the propeller.
The lifeboat crew located the fishing vessel drifting four miles north of Wicklow harbour. They managed to free the entangled rope from the propeller, the fishermen were able to get underway and resume fishing.
The lifeboat crew returned to station once the Coast Guard were satisfied the fishing vessel required no further assistance.
The crew on the call out were Helm Graham Fitzgerald Alan Goucher and Terry Sillery.
