Under 12 Hurling Div 1A

Carnew 9-8       Arklow Rocks 3-2

Carnew had a very comprehensive win over arch rivals Arklow Rocks on home turf on Monday 13th July. Carnew who had a very strong panel to work from took the game to Arklow from the start and had built up a great lead by half time. Conditions were perfect for hurling, the game was entertaining to watch and was appreciated by both sets of supporters. Cillian Doyle just back from his holidays in Killarney, was home just in time to score two goals to finish off a great week for himself.

The usual reliables for Carnew in the names of Collins, Rooney, Rossitor and Redmond were also helped in by good displays from Dan Murphy, Shane Byrne, Maurice Sheil and Richard Greene. Billy Molloy had a field day at full forward and was Carnews top scorer. Colm Patterson, Sean and Brian Kenny, Jack Keogh, Shay Guilfoyle also played well. Carnew club have their Cul Camps on this week, so there is no training this week but fixtures will be back to normal next week with training Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights starting at 6:30pm.
